Nora's  Story

 

            She was born, Nora Irene

                       May 18, 1978

 In Eustis, Florida..........Raised in Tampa.

                A beautiful baby girl.

 

NORA....was adopted at 4 months old.

She was placed at the Mount Dora Christian Childrens home. She remained there until she was 3 years old, was adopted out by a family but then ended up back in foster care. When she turned 14 she was sent to the Stepping Stone Farm in Florida, which is an all girls foster home. She remained there until she was 18 years old. When she turned 18 she had graduated school and they turned her loose out into the real

world alone. 

Nora ended up getting pregnant and having a son by the time she was 19. So now she is out there a young single mother alone with a son. No one to help her. Of course not trained in anything she finds it hard to get a job so, she starts dancing at different clubs to support herself and her baby. The baby's father ended up in prison by the time the baby was 2 years old and out of their lives for trying to kill her and her son. Her son is now 18.

She tried to connect with her biological family when she turned 21., but after staying with her mother for a short time, her mother acted like she didnt want her around. The same reason she was givin up at 4 months old....so heartbroken Nora packed up her and her sons things and moved out to the streets again. She has only spoken to her Dad once who has 2 other daughters from the woman he is living with, she is 2 years younger than Nora and will not let him have anything to do with her or even meet with her.

Nora just walked away and left it alone.

Nora has lived a very rough life, but she has made the best of it, suffering from PTSD, Anxiety Attacks and depression which she has been taking medication for since she was 8 years old due to all the abuse, neglect and abandonment issues that have surrounded her life.

 

And NOW Cancer......

 

 

 

She says "Somedays...I just want to give up on life because of everything I have been through, but everytime I look at my children, they just light me up again and gives me a reason to keep on fighting.

I've been fighting my whole life to survive."

 

Beautiful Nora is a young 37 years old and now married to a wonderful guy named Jose, and has 2 beautiful twins, a boy and a girl along with her 18 year old son.  Her husband is working and they have insurance, but they still have co-pays from $40.00 to $100.00 a pop and they are not sure what it will cover of the chemo and radiation therapies.

              CANCER IS EXPENSIVE!

 

On January 22, 2016 the doctors took a biopsy her stomach and her small intestines.  She is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday the 26th for removal of a portion of her small intesines because the doctors said it was basically dead. She will be in the hospital 1 to 2 weeks then transfered to a cancer care hospital for Chemo and Radiation therapy. The lining of her bladder is in stage 1 cancer according to the doctors. The portion of her small intestines has discoloration and looks like dead tissue the doctors told her, which is making her sick.

She now weighs 122 lbs and continues to loose weight, she has not been able to eat since last Wednesday do to the procedure and loss of appetite, weak, tired and in a lot of pain she forges on.
